Sunday evening marked the 90th anniversary of the Academy Awards. As expected, it was full of laughter and women representation was absolutely present. Jimmy Kimmel hosted his second year in a row despite last year’s kerfuffle with the whole envelope fiasco. Even Faye Dunaway and Warren Beatty came back for redemption. If you decided to opt out of watching the show, we don’t blame you. It is a long show! That’s why we’re catching you up on what you missed this year’s big event!
Tiffany Haddish is all of us

If there’s someone who relates to THE PEOPLE, it has to be Tiffany Haddish. She presented her award by taking off her heels and slipping on a pair of ugg slippers. We don’t blame her. If you’re out there for hours talking to the press, walking down that huge red carpet, and then spending the rest of the night in heels, we’d be doing the exact same thing!
Coco won BIG!

Disney Pixar’s Coco won Best Animated Feature and Best Original Song for “Remember Me.” The scene for “Remember Me” was definitely something to… remember. (Sorry, we had to!)
Jordan Peele got his well deserved Oscar
Jordan Peele: "Everybody who went and saw ['Get Out']…I love you. For shouting out at the theatre, for shouting out at the screen." https://t.co/RuawA1ZMoJ #Oscars pic.twitter.com/xfXsKfjweE

YES! YES! YES! Much needed. Being that the Oscars is the most coveted award for anyone in the entertainment industry, Jordan Peele got his well-deserved award for Best Original Screenplay. The standing ovation might have gotten in the way of him scoring a new Jet Ski but we mean, it’s OK.
Can Frances McDormand do all the speeches?
Best Actress Frances McDormand asks all the female nominees to stand at the #Oscars, calls for an inclusion rider https://t.co/RuqvtKMvWx pic.twitter.com/jbFHN4kHrT
— The Hollywood Reporter (@THR) March 5, 2018
After winning the award for Best Actress, Frances McDormand took a moment to shout out all the women in the crowd. At the very end, she calls for an inclusion rider which, according to Hollywood Reporter: a reference to the belief by some that there should be requirements in contracts that provide for gender and racial diversity.
The biggest award of the night goes to…
The Shape of Water! This just convinced us, even more, to stop avoiding the facts and watch this movie ASAP. Congrats to Guillermo del Toro and team!
