The Shamanic drops their new EP, Gone, a four-track collection of remixes, featuring the lush voice of Suzanne Palmer, via Wake Up! Music.
Made up of producers Craig J. Snider and Ralphi Rosario, The Shamanic arrived on the scene in 2021, releasing their debut single, “Fire” with Andrea Love, followed by a series of EPs. At the present juncture, the duo is working on their debut full-length album.
Snider and Rosario have remixed mega-artists such as Lady Gaga, U2, The Pussycat Dolls, Mariah Carey, Janet Jackson, Cyndi Lauper, Beyoncé, Ricky Martin, Gloria Estefan, Katy Perry, Madonna, and Cher.
Grammy nominee Rosario started out as a DJ and then became part of Chicago’s Hot Mix Five. His smash hit, “You Used to Hold Me,” placed him on the musical map, followed by popular knockout remixes like “Rain On Me” and “Hot Stuff.”
Snider, who does it all, including composing, producing, remixing, and songwriting, has taken the top spot on Billboard’s Dance Chart dozens of times. He scored CNN’s series Dark Was The Night, Amazon Prime’s Surprise Me!, and Steve James’ Head Games, along with having his music featured on Madam Secretary, Corporate, American Greed, The Voice, and Sex and the City.
Born in Chicago, Suzanne Palmer began performing when she was 16, followed by later signing with MCA/Twisted Records and working with Grammy-winning producer Peter Rauhofer on Style, featuring “Much Better,” “Alright,” and “Muscles.”
Gone begins with the “Funky Strut Mix,” opening on a contagious rhythm topped by wavering textures. When Palmer’s sensuous voice enters, the tune takes on captivating, undulating washes.
“Tell me Tell me / what you gonna do now / Now that I am Gone / Gone Gone / Tell me Tell me / Who you gonna weigh down / Now that I’m / Gone Gone.”
The “Radio Edit” quickens the rhythm, adding shimmering, kaleidoscopic toplines as Palmer’s plush, tantalizing voice imbues the lyrics with dazzling textures. Jazz fusion-flavored keyboards give the harmonics smooth, sparkling coloration.
With its popping, percussive intro, “Dub Strut Mix” extends the bassline, adding a muscular rhythmic pulse. Smoldering with dynamism, the harmonics push and sway with unbridled, latent exhibitionism.
The “Ralphi Rosario Dub” picks up the rhythmic pace and expands the percussive accents, infusing the tune with House potency. Less seductive than on the previous tracks, Palmer’s vocals saturate the lyrics with dreamy surfaces.
Dripping with flair, on Gone, The Shamanic pumps out swashbuckling House music, crowned by the voluptuous voice of Suzanne Palmer.
