Nadine Coyle has covered a Snow Patrol classic and turned it into a summer bop and we are here for it!
The Girls Aloud star has released a cover of ‘Chasing Cars’, re-naming the track to ‘If I Lay Here’.
Chatting to Scott Mills on BBC Radio 2, Coyle said: “This is a cover of If I Lay Here (Chasing Cars) by Snow Patrol and some of those guys are from Derry, like Johnny McDaid, and it is such an amazing song. So when it was come forward for me to potentially record it and make more of a dance version, I was so thrilled. I was like, YES, let’s do it!”.
Mills added “Your fans are calling it the bop of the summer” and we have to agree.
The new single comes after the ‘Go To Work’ singers 2018 EP ‘Nadine’ as well as follow up singles ‘Fool For Love’ in 2019 and ‘All That I Know’ in 2020.
Nadine started her singing career in chart-topping group Girls Aloud, winning a place in television singing competition ‘Popstars: The Rivals’. Coyle alongside Cheryl (Tweedy), Kimberley Walsh, Sarah Harding and Nicola Roberts went on to sell millions of singles, albums and even won a BRIT Award in 2009 for single ‘The Promise’.
