Electronic music producer and multi-instrumentalist NASAYA releases his brand-new single, “RUMMELSBURG,” along with revealing his forthcoming EP, RÊVES, via Foreign Family Collective.
“RUMMELSBURG” is the second single taken from his upcoming RÊVES EP and arrives just ahead of his upcoming tour as support for ODESZA on their Last Goodbye tour.
A graduate of Berklee College Of Music, NASAYA was born and raised on Reunion Island, a French island in the Indian Ocean, where he grew up speaking French and Creole while spending his days surfing and listening to Led Zeppelin and Nirvana.
At the age of 12, NASAYA first laid hands on a guitar, a momentous occasion akin to a religious epiphany. His sound blends jazz, experimental dance music, hip-hop, pop, and classic rock.
Since the release of his debut single, “Milk,” NASAYA has dropped hits such as “PATTERNS,” featuring Sara Diamond, “TEMPO” with MARO, and “JUNE,” with Floyd Fuji, on labels like Majestic Casual, Concord Records, and ODESZA’s Foreign Family Collective.
Along with features on elite media outlets, NASAYA has landed sync deals with Patagonia, Amazon Prime, Hulu, Netflix, American Eagle, and Mercedes, as well as producing for artists like UMI, Fiji Blue, and Royal & The Serpent.
“RUMMELSBURG” follows on the heels of NASAYA’s PIRILAMPO EP, a collaboration with MARO, and his recent single, “CIEL.” “RUMMELSBURG” sees NASAYA going in an experimental direction, incorporating breakbeats, chopped vocal samples, and complex polyrhythms.
“RUMMELSBURG” opens on a pushing rhythm brimming with exotic tones, followed by the entry of delicious, distant vocals. A shimmering, vocal-filled breakdown shifts the harmonic flow, and then mousses up to alluring layers of thrumming, intertwining leitmotifs, infusing the tune with escalating washes of beguiling coloration.
