There is a commercial circling social media of the new horror flick, The Nun, and it has freaked a lot of people out. People have tweeted about it to warn others and one tweet in particular has gone viral with over 100K likes and retweets.

The Nun is based off The Conjuring movies and it is supposedly the “darkest chapter.” The movie stars American Horror Story actress Taissa Farmiga, whose character, Sister Irene, is sent by the Vatican to look into the tragic death of a nun, but little does she know what terrifying events await her.
The nun has made an appearance in The Conjuring 2 and Annabelle: Creation.
The commercial only lasts for a couple seconds, but it’s pretty scary, especially for people who are not fans of horror movies. It starts by showing a countdown on screen and then suddenly, a picture of the nun appears along with the sound of a loud shrieking voice. After that, the trailer ends.
Ever since the tweet went viral, many people became aware of the commercial and now know to ignore it when they see it.
thank you so much for tweeting this!! me and my close siblings all have problems with horror and jumpscares (especially me since im sensitive about this stuff+have anxiety) and i warned both of them now thanks to this post!!! u probably saved all of us from nightmares at least?

People believe that the commercial could be triggering for someone that deals with anxiety or someone who doesn’t like being scared. Many think that it was a bad advertising decision.
Other people have tweeted that the ad for the movie was also seen on Snapchat and Instagram. If you’re the type of person that gets scared easily or just isn’t a fan of horror movies, you should mute the screen or scroll past it.
For those who are curious, check out the commercial below. We watched the ad while it was muted.
