It’s hard to believe that there is only a little over a month left of 2018. New Year’s Eve is just around the corner and that means so is Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve with Ryan Seacrest. It airs on ABC on 12/31 starting at 8/7c.
They just announced who will ring in 2019.
After Dick Clark passed away, Ryan Seacrest took over as the main host and will continue to do so this year. This will be his 13th year hosting. He is joined by Jennie McCarthy and they will watch the ball drop in Times Square.
Lucy Hale will ring in the new year in New Orleans while Ciara counts it down in Hollywood. The different hosts allow each time zone to celebrate the new year.
The lineup this year includes Charlie Puth, Dua Lipa, Kelsi Ballerini, The Chainsmokers, Foster the People, Ella Mai and Macklemore with Skylar Grey.
This is only the first wave of star-studded performers. More singers are going to be announced soon.
“For 47 years, New Year’s Rockin’ Eve has been America’s Biggest and most watched party of the year,” said Mark Bracco, Executive Producer and VP for Dick Clark Productions, in an interview with Billboard.
These performers will sing in Hollywood while saying goodbye to 2018. The New York and New Orleans performers have yet to be announced.
The telecast lasts for 5 1/2 hours in order to cover all time zones.
