Niall Horan has proved once again that he is the world’s favourite Irishman, including to the President of the United States. Yes, Joe Biden himself. Niall was invited across the pond to perform at the White House in celebration of one of Ireland’s biggest holidays, St Patrick’s Day on 17th March.
Niall, who originates from Mullingar in Ireland, kicked off his all-important performance in front of Joe Biden and other Irish guests in the White House’s East Room. Niall performed four songs in the special performance, two of the songs were themed on immigration. He sang his brand new track Heaven as well as his first ever single This Town, dedicating the latter to his hometown.
Niall addressed the audience during his performance:
Thanks very much for having me here. As a proud Irishman who travels the world, it’s a major honour for me to be here. Thanks for putting me up to it. There’s a lot of talented Irish singers out there but to get chosen to represent your country on the grandest of stages is a real honour, so thanks very much.
Joe Biden concluded the performance by thanking Niall and then telling him that he can “come back anytime”. Niall shocked fans earlier in the day by posting a video of himself on his social media with the President, you can watch the video down below. Niall beamed as he addressed his fans, “Hi guys, it’s me. I just wanted to wish you all a very happy St Patrick’s Day from the White House from me.” Then he span the camera to reveal Joe Biden stood beside him whom added, “And me too I’m here at the White House, I hang out here once in a while and I’m glad he’s here.”
