Niall Horan has announced that he will be performing at the Royal Albert Hall in London on 7 November and in keeping with current COVID Guidelines, only his band will be present. The gig will support We Need Crew, a fundraising initiative to support tour crew and live event professionals.
The one-off event is to be live-streamed exclusively online to fans for all over the world.
Niall Horan explained why this global audience-free Livestream performance is important to him, ‘I want to shine a light on the incredible crew members of our touring world that make those events possible and whose livelihoods have been severely affected by Covid-19 and the lack of financial support to self-employed Arts World members. I’m putting on this gig to try and raise awareness of the immense value they bring to an industry enjoyed by so many, and do something to help them and their families.’
The We Need Crew Website which has been created by touring crew to support other touring crew and live event professionals and is being supported by lots of artists including Niall, has a really interesting podcast you can listen to where each work various members of tour crews will discuss their job and give behind the scenes glimpses of what it’s like to work on a tour. There is also lots of really cool merch you can purchase with all proceeds going towards helping tour crew.
Fans can buy tickets for the multi-camera Livestream event on 16 October at 9am BST. All proceeds from Niall Horan’s show are directly going to his touring crew and the #WeNeedCrew relief fund.
