Nick Jonas’s new album has quickly caught on with the public and iTunes/Spotify numbers support that fact greatly. Within the span of an hour, the album has already reached the #1 spot on the iTunes chart in many countries like the United States.
With chart movement sure to change in the next few hours, the record has also reached the top spot in Brazil, Bulgaria, Columbia, Costa Rica, Mexico, Paraguay, Peru, Macau and United Arab Emirates. Overall, LYWC is played in the top 20 in over 20 countries. Again, these numbers are only current and the album will probably surge higher in other countries in the next day.
Jonas has already found success with debut single ‘Close’ (ft. Tove Lo) with many critics calling it “sexy and sultry”. The song has so far been certified Gold in the United States by the RIAA for selling 500,000 copies+ as well as New Zealand (7,500+). It also charted in the lower and upper end of many European countries like the U.K. (#25), Italy (#75), Germany (#61), Sweden (#41), Belgium (#7), and Portugal (#25).
‘Chainsaw’ the second single off the album, was also deemed a personal favorite by many critics. It was said by Jonas that the song is “one of his most vulnerable songs of the album and that it is inspired by his breakup with Olivia Culpo”.
