Since launching her solo career with her Khalid collaboration ‘Love Lies’, Normani has made huge waves in the music industry, making sure that she is an artist to watch out for.

Over the past few months, she has hopped on Jessie Reyez’s ‘Body Count’ remix with Kehlani and also featured on Quavo’s album track ‘Swing’ with Davido. However, today Normani is back with what looks set to be her biggest project yet.

The soulful songstress has teamed up with Scottish DJ extraordinaire Calvin Harris for two incredible new tracks: ‘Checklist’ featuring WizKid and ‘Slow Down’. Normani previously teased their collaborative project during this year’s American Music Awards and whilst fans were only expecting one song, the pair have treated us to two bop-worthy offerings.

Kicking off with ‘Checklist’, where Normani shines over Calvin’s Caribbean infused RnB groove. From the off, the track is irresistible to the ear and will make you want to bust some moves and lose yourself in the Afrobeat rhythm. WizKid adds his own flavour to the song with verses which complement Normani’s perfectly.

On the other hand, ‘Slow Down’ has a different kind of vibe yet remains completely danceable. With Normani singing about an unrequited lover, the songstress shows off her slick RnB vocals. The track falls in perfectly with Calvin’s recent production style, and could well be the DJ’s next big hit.

Take a listen to ‘Checklist’ and ‘Slow Down’, aka the Normani x Calvin Harris project, below.

With Calvin’s previous two singles, ‘Promises’ featuring Sam Smith and ‘One Kiss’ featuring Dua Lipa, still riding high, we hope that his collaborations with Normani will emulate a similar success.

There is no doubt that the songstress is set to be a huge star in her own right, and her latest collab will certainly push her in the right direction. We’re already loving what we’ve heard from Normani so far, and with her debut solo album in the works, we couldn’t be more excited for her bright future.
