After a decade of making music and playing shows all around the world, the guys in We Are The Ocean have decided to call it a day.

Liam, Alfie, Jack, and Tom announced their news via Facebook, stating it’s “the hardest decision we have had to make.”

They explained that the music industry is getting tougher and tougher, with fewer opportunities available, but an increase in the amount of competition.

Artists nowadays are having to sacrifice so much in order to pursue their dreams.

They said: “As these sacrifices were ones we were more than willing to make, after time they began to distort the heart and soul of the music we were creating.”

You can check out the full explanation below, tissues at the ready.

But We Are The Ocean are not about to disappear back into the waters just yet.

They’ve announced that they will be playing three more UK headline shows as a part of their Farewell Tour in March.

The guys will play the following dates:

    22 March – Glasgow Cathouse
23 March – Manchester Sound Control
24 March – London Tufnell Park Dome

Tickets go on sale Friday 19 January at 10am, details for this can be found on their Facebook page.

The guys mentioned on Facebook that they love us from the bottom of their hearts, well We Are The Ocean, from the bottom of ours, we love you right back and wish you every success for the future.
