Olympic legend Michael Phelps and wife Nicole have announced that they are expecting their second child in matching social media posts.
They both shared photographs of their one year old child Boomer, clutching the positive pregnancy test looking very pleased with the news.
“Number 2 on the way!!! So excited!! Wonder if it’s a boy or a girl??” Michael Phelps wrote on his Instagram account.
Nicole added the same photo to her own account featuring the caption: “Lil mans going to be a Big Brother!!!”
It looks like little Boomer is just as happy as his parents are for a new sibling as a photo to his own account stated: “So excited to see what mama is having!! Do I get to have a brother or a sister?!?”
Michael Phelps and his wife welcomed their son back in early 2016 and married later that year – twice!
They tied the knot in June and then once more in October during a bigger event in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico.
Michael Phelps has revealed previously that his spouse was excited to grow their family together. “Nicole has recently brought up that she would like a girl!” he said to PEOPLE.
“We definitely want more kids, it just depends on when. I’m sure I’m getting pressure.”
Now retired, the Olympic-gold-medallist holder has more time to concentrate on fatherhood and raising the perfect family.
He told PEOPLE that he has embraced every moment of seeing Boomer learn and grow, gushing: “I think that is the coolest thing, watching him grow, and watching him figure out new things.”
