Rising Nigerian recording artist Oxlade releases his brand new EP Oxygene this week – a slick, 6-track collection of vibrant and dynamic songs all guaranteed to get you in the mood for summer 2020!
Featuring production credits from the likes of Nigerian super producers Spax, Dera, Lussh and Echo, as well as Britain’s very own Nosa Apollo – the EP also sees Oxlade team up with British-Nigerian singer Moelogo on the stand-out track, Tables Turn – an introspective, melodic, soulful bop that lyrically calls for us all to always be kind, and understanding of one another, despite our differences and misgivings.

With it’s timeless sound, captivating lyrics and eclectic mix of contrasting musical genres (afrobeat, hip-hop, country, R&B), all succinctly linked together by Oxlade’s distinctive, soulful vocals, Oxygene gives fans flavour, emotive layers and ALL the feels, as the Lagos-based musician, digs deep, speaks his truth and bares his soul for the whole world to see.
“Music is the air that I breathe, which is why the EP is named Oxygene.” Oxlade explains. “There’s a play on words in there too, with the Oxy’ being my nickname, and with the biological ‘gene’, I’m letting out a part of myself to the world which contains love, consciousness and pain.”
