British pop’s most enchanting chanteuse Perrie begins an exciting new chapter today (April 12th) with the launch of her debut solo single ‘Forget About Us’ – an uptempo yet bittersweet post-break up anthem, that looks set to become the definitive song of summer 2024!
Co-written by Edwards along with Ed Sheeran and legendary songwriter David Hodges (Kelly Clarkson, Christina Perri) and Steve Solomon, the super infectious track finds the Little Mix singer caught in a moment of reflection, as she looks back on past relationships with a fondness and compassion for all parties involved.
Filled with captivating melodies, killer hooks and soaring vocals, the irresistibly catchy pop banger serves as the first offering from Perrie’s as-yet-untitled, highly anticipated debut solo album, which is expected to drop later in the year.
Explaining the singles sentiment and evocative lyric, Perrie says via a press release: “I look back on past relationships and do think happily about those times. Do I want to be there now? No. It didn’t work out that way and if it was supposed to be it would have happened.”
“Relationships have been a huge part of my life and they’ve made me who I am now. I think it’s a nice sentiment to be honest about and it’s super relatable.”
The songs accompanying music video, directed by Jake Nava (Britney Spears, Beyoncé) and shot in Cape Town, is expected to be released in the coming weeks! In the meantime you can watch the tracks official lyric video below…
With nearly all tracks written and recorded at her North London home, fans of Perrie can expect to learn a whole lot more about their beloved pop idol when she unleashes her debut solo album into the world!

“I’m so proud of what I’ve done and created. I wanted it to be fun above anything else and showcase my singing through ballads and big vocal numbers.”
“Having people singing your songs back to you is the best natural high in the world. I’m just so excited to see how fans react to my music now.”
