2023 is set to be the piano-house-led year as many producers and DJs set to include the instrument into their songs but PLS&TY has gone one step further with their awesome single “New Color”. The track is the second single from his upcoming EP, titled “3 Days, 2 Nights”. This is the follow-up to his previous single, “Party In My Head“.
PLS&TY, real name Tommy Leas, is a viral artist in the electronic dance music scene who has already amassed over 100 million streams across platforms – ignoring the fact that he reached over 1 billion streams for his feature in a Hershey’s chocolate television commercial. He continues to be a force to be reckoned with, having gone on to be remixed by Grammy-nominated Morgan Page, Rusko, Cazzette, Bondax, and YehMe2, as well as extensively touring top festivals such as Shaky Beats, Breakaway, Electric Forest, EDC Vegas, and more. After a run of singles over the years, PLS&TY dropped his debut EP, titled “Very Special”, which features global stars including Sean Kingston, Alex Aiono, and Wifisfuneral. He hasn’t released new music in the last two years, instead becoming an early adopter of NFT technology and has gone on to release various NFTs launching projects for the likes of Tony Hawk and Floyd Mayweather. The release of new music sees him gearing up to release his sophomore EP, titled “3 Days, 2 Nights”.
Written by Glenna Gasparian, Nikolai Patrick Prainge, and Thomas Leas, whilst it was produced by Thomas Leas, “New Color” is an upbeat emotive song allowing PLS&TY to play around with organic melodies mixed with awesome piano-led instrumentals and a powerful underlining bassline to create an addictive dance track. The focus is on the unforgettable vocals as the track builds into a crazy bright chorus that just fills listeners with glee and joy. Lyrically full of positivity and happiness, we hear how we are a welcomed light in this person’s world and how we help to pull him out of a dark place, whilst also delving into the young-love spirit and the immense euphoric bliss that comes with it. How they’ve put that into a song, we’ll never know, but wow, this is one that not only strikes the heart but one you want to hear daily just to give your that radiant spark.
