Post Malone has gone straight to number one in the Official UK Albums chart with his second record, beerbongs & bentleys.
The album achieved 43,000 combined physical, digital and streaming equivalent sales and recorded the third biggest opening week of streams for an album in the UK of all time. Achieving 35,000 streams in a week, beerbongs & bentleys sits behind Ed Sheeran’s ÷ and Drake’s More Life, which racked up 79,000 and 36,000 streams respectively.
beerbongs & bentleys has also achieved great success worldwide. Not only did it smash first day streaming records on Spotify with 79 million global streams, but it was certified platinum in the US after just four days.
Post’s sophomore album includes the hit singles ‘rockstar’ featuring 21 Savage and ‘Psycho’ with Ty Dolla $ign.
Elsewhere in the UK Albums Chart, The Greatest Showman soundtrack slips one place to number two. Anne-Marie’s Speak Your Mind and Blossoms’ Cool Like You debut at number three and four respectively whilst George Ezra is at five with Staying at Tamara’s. Janelle Monae also makes a debut at number eight with Dirty Computer.
Over in the Singles Chart, Calvin Harris and Dua Lipa claim a third week at number one with their infectious hit ‘One Kiss’. Two of Post Malone’s album tracks, ‘Better Now’ and ‘Paranoid’ debuted at number nine and 11 respectively.
