Luca Chesney is back with the release of her new single “Forever Young,” an ambitious fresh take on Alphaville’s original 1984 song.
The track’s dreamy vocals riding on a bass-heavy melody make this track an instant favorite. The flow of the music creates its own captivating harmonic dynamics.
As the daughter of Christian missionaries, Chesney had a very eclectic childhood that enabled her to travel to various parts of the world, before settling down in NYC where she launched her music career.
Last month she released the debut single off of her upcoming EP Mother Electric, entitled “Revolver.” which dealt with the themes of life and death, and the human experience. The release of “Forever Young” is the perfect follow up to a deeply personal track, tackling the same dark and intricate themes in its own unique way. Chesney imbues the lyrics with smoldering power and authenticity, effectively making the track her own and successfully bringing it back to life and the present time.
Since the release of her eponymous EP last year, Chesney has undergone a personal metamorphosis – a journey that saw her shave her head in order to mirror a physical representation of her inner spiritual transformation. Her upcoming album documents this process, and so “Forever Young” is the second offering of this journey that Luca Chesney has decided to share with listeners.
