Singer-songwriter, actress, and model Shenna, aka Shenna Somsmieh, premieres “Hope You’re Happy” on CelebMix. “Hope You’re Happy” is the first single from her forthcoming EP, Blue Memories.
Shenna explains the inspiration for “Hope You’re Happy,” saying, “”I’ve been listening to a lot of Dua Lipa because my goal is to grow how she did. This song is about social media. I’m making references to social media terms like ‘follow me’ ‘likes’ ‘trending’ etc. It is basically about making others happy by constantly posting on social media but feeling like you’re losing a part of yourself.”
Growing up in Woodbridge, Virginia, Shenna discovered her love for music at an early age, performing at showcases when she was 7-years-old. Since then, she’s performed at the Mod Club in Toronto, Disney World, Central Park, The Highline Ballroom, and the D.C. Pride Festival.
In 2014, she dropped her debut EP, Dream In Color, followed by releasing her debut album, Made Of Gold, which received more than 200,000 streams on Spotify. Her music has been featured on The Bad Girls Club, Netflix’s Miss Stevens, Teen Mom OG, and MTV’s Finding Carter Season 2.
