Singer and actor Riley Smith is FOX’s Proven Innocent star and former Nashville actor that has released two new singles, officially launching him into a special project for 2019.
Smith’s soulful vocals and country pop blend have enchanted fans and helped build his career both on and off stage. His music involves his thoughts and recollections from his journey through life. The singles “Radio” and “Hard To Kiss” bring fans into his world and how he sees life.
“Radio” is the first single, released in January, that’s part of his project involving a release of a new song with a video each month throughout 2019. This single is a bit hopeless romantic as a man grows jealous while he drives with his girlfriend in the car and she sings along to songs sung by other men on the radio. The man then finds a way to get on the radio and hear her sing along.
Being an actor and trying to transition into music has proven to be a fun but difficult balance. “I thought it would be less work and kind of easier to do one song a month, but it’s not,” Riley Smith told Billboard. “As soon as I get done with the song I’ve got to start the video, and then as soon as I’m done with that I have to do the next song. But it’s fun.”
Released on Valentine’s Day, “Hard To Kiss” is a heartwarming song about love. The title stems from the lyrics “it’s hard to kiss when you’re smiling this hard.” It’s very difficult to not fall in love with the creativeness of the video as well as the lyrics that outpour love for everyone.
The video features a large variety of images submitted by couples from across the world. “A lot of them came with the story behind their love,” Riley Smith said. “It was so emotional to see first hand. This time in our society proves that love is still all around us.”
