Fans of the TV show Psych were beyond excited after it was announced that the popular series would finally get a well-deserved movie. And to add to the excitement, it was officially announced that it would indeed be a Christmas special!
After a few months of speculation, it took just one tweet to make Psych fans’ hearts fill with joy.

And now even more good news- aside from the original cast returning (James Roday, Dulé Hill, Maggie Lawson, Timothy Omundson, Kirsten Nelson, and Corbin Bernsen) we also get to see Zachary Levi alongside our favourite crime-solving team! Remember Chuck?
Dulé Hill was the first one to break the news when he posted a video of himself and James Roday on Twitter, and Zachary popped out of nowhere.

For those of you who didn’t know- a pineapple is an inside joke between… well, pretty much everyone who knows about the show. James Roday once improvised a scene with it, and since then you can spot a pineapple (or something related to it) in every episode of every season. In Chuck, it was used as an emergency codeword.
Zachary Levi, best known for his lead role in Chuck, has been cast in the upcoming Psych movie. While many may have been hoping for a crossover (much like the one we never got with Monk), it has been officially confirmed that Levi will be portraying the main villain named “Thin White Duke”, described as “a ruthless, mysterious and dashing villain of the highest order”.
Which is why, we’re guessing, he dyed his hair blond recently.
In case you forgot, here’s the logline for the film:
“The ambitious friends — along with some returning fan-favorite characters — come together during the holidays after a mystery assailant targets one of their own. A comedic thrill ride follows, as the wild and unpredictable Psych team pursues the bad guys, justice …and food!”
A few more details have since leaked- the story is set in Santa Barbara, as per usual, and a reunion happens between the characters. However, the joy doesn’t last long before they realise that the “Thin White Duke” is targeting one of them.
So, who here can not wait for December to roll in, just so we can snuggle up with some hot cocoa and watch our favourite characters unite for two hours to once again solve crime? Tweet us over at CelebMix if you’re on that list!
