Reading Festival are set to announce their third and final headliners on Tuesday 1st March 2016, with many dedicated fans of the festival eagerly awaiting the announcement.

For those of you who may not be familiar with the festival, here’s a little information. Reading and Leeds Festival is an event run during the bank holiday weekend of August across the two cities (yup, you guessed it) Reading and Leeds, UK. The line up acts alternate between different days across the two different cities, and the festival is famous for it’s iconic rock sound.

Reading Festival 2015 saw headliners The Libertines, Mumford and Sons and Metallica take the stage as they rocked thousands of fans. The currently announced acts for Reading Festival 2016 include headliners Red Hot Chili Peppers, and headlining together are Foals and Disclosure.

In anticipation for the next announcement, we at CelebMix decided to create a list of headliners we’d like to see perform at Reading Festival 2016!

    1. Kings of Leon

Kings of Leon last took to the Reading Festival stage back in 2009, which is enough time for them to make a long-awaited comeback to the festival, right?

    2. Foo Fighters

Last year saw the Foo Fighters pull out of their headline slot at Glastonbury festival as Dave Grohl fractured his leg at a previous show, and regrettably had to take time out of performing in order to recuperate. Could 2016 be the year they come back to England and take to the Reading festival stage?

    3. Thirty Seconds to Mars

Thirty Seconds to Mars last took to the Reading Festival stage in 2011 and there’s no denying their music is the perfect sound to get the crowd pumped.

    4. Muse

Muse performed at Reading Festival 2011, playing a varied amount of songs from their 5 released albums at the time. Muse released their newest album ‘Drones’ in June 2015, and are set to play Glastonbury festival in June 2016. Could they possibly take on Reading Festival too?

    5. Biffy Clyro

Currently a ‘strong rumour’ as the next headline act to be announced, could the three-piece rock band be taking on Reading Festival three years after their last appearance at the festival in 2013?

    6. Royal Blood

After forming in 2013 and releasing their debut album in 2014, the two-piece band have quickly risen to fame and gathered a strong gathering of fans within the UK. They performed on the main stage of Reading Festival in 2015, but could they be coming back as a headline slot?

    7. Guns N’ Roses

Formed in 1985, Guns N’ Roses have brought us years worth of defining rock songs. Currently set to perform at Coachella in USA in April 2016, could the legendary rock band possibly be making a trip to the UK for Reading Festival 2016?

    8.  The Who

Having never performed at Reading Festival, The Who would be the perfect way to close the main stage. Formed in the 1960s, The Who have been performing for over 50 years, being described as one of the bands that has helped to define the iconic British rock sound.

    9. You Me at Six

You Me at Six took to the main stage of Reading Festival in 2014, but their dedicated fans sure would not be disappointed by the news of their return to Reading 2016, this time as a headline act.

    10. Linkin Park

The band are currently working on a new album, but we think 6 months is long enough from now until Reading Festival 2016 to write and release a new album and debut it at the festival, right?
