One of the best new faces in the music industry, Mahalia, took to the stage at Hackney’s OSLO last week to perform as part of the ‘Annie Mac Presents’ experience.
Annie Mac Presents was a four-day event which took place over London presenting over forty live music acts, and showcased some of the hottest upcoming and established talent. The four-day event was complemented by two days of talks and discussions to curate a carefully crafted, unique experience.
The showcase kicked off with newcomer Celeste who warmed up the crowd with her sweet, soulful offerings before Rapper Kojey Radical turned up the heat.
Performing a variety of tracks, including his Mahalia collaboration ‘Water’, Kojey injected a surge of energy into the room, curating an electric liveliness that had the entire room moving.
Beaming onto the stage Mahalia, accompanied by her guitarist Charlie, kicked off the night with the chilled out ‘No Pressure’ before grabbing her guitar to play an upbeat rendition of ‘Honeymoon’ taken from her recent EP.
In her first show of the year, the 20-year-old songstress used her talent, charm and personality to curate an unforgettable night full of jovial vibes.
Keeping the good energy flowing, she welcomed back Kojey Radical to the stage to perform their collaboration ‘One Night Only’ as they exuded a care free energy showing off their incredible organic friendship.
Bringing the tempo down, Mahalia took the time to perform an acoustic version of Rihanna’s hit ‘Work’ before proceeding to stand solo on the stage baring herself and her star power for a powerful, inspiring and compelling performance of ‘Backup Plan’ as she shed light on the pressures of being doubted and held back.
After silencing the room, as they stood in awe of her talent, she continued the show with the heart wrenching break up anthem ‘Good Reason’ before bringing back the sass for ‘No Reply’.
Entering the final section of her show, Mahalia amped up the tempo as she vibed to her most recently released single ‘Do Not Disturb’ before concluding the show with her incredible hit ‘I Wish I Missed My Ex’, roared back to her by the audience.
Throughout the showcase Mahalia’s captivating personality was effortlessly intertwined between impeccable lyricism, truth and comedy to curate a truly special evening.
Mahalia is currently gearing up for her upcoming tour which you can purchase tickets for here.
