Rita Ora is to perform for Pope Francis this coming Sunday, September 4. The 25-year-old singer revealed the news during her appearance on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon.
“I’m going to the Vatican, I leave tomorrow! I’m more of a spiritual person, so the Vatican I figured out is actually a big deal,” – joked Rita
“I looked at the guest list and I just see P.O.P. E, and I was like… Pope!”
The Catholic churches of Albania and Kosovo are holding a commemorative ceremony in Vatican City in honor of the late Mother Teresa. Aside from the British singer, the ceremony will also feature traditional Albanian music and Albanian sopranos such as Ermonela Jaho, Inva Mula and Samir Pirgu.
“I’m really looking forward to it. It’s a real honor. I don’t know if anyone’s really done the whole Vatican venue thing before.”
Both Rita and Mother Teresa have Albanian heritage, which partly explains why they asked the singer to perform.
Ora was recently seen filming Fifty Shades Darker, the sequel to Fifty Shades Of Grey. She will be reprising her role as Christian Grey’s younger sister, Mia.
