Rita Ora has broken a 30 year UK chart record with her latest single ‘Let You Love Me’.

The track climbed to number six on this week’s Official Singles Chart (released yesterday, October 5), marking Rita’s 13th top 10 hit.

In the process, she has now set a new UK chart record for the most top 10 singles by a British female artist. Rita overtakes music icons Shirley Bassey and Petula Clark, who both previously held the record with 12 top 10 hits each.

Since bursting onto the scene in 2012, Rita has enjoyed a string of incredible releases including her DJ Fresh collab ‘Hot Right Now’, her debut solo single ‘RIP’, ‘How We Do (Party) and ‘Poison’. However, five of her top ten hits were released within the past 16 months: ‘Your Song’, ‘Lonely Together’ with Avicii, ‘Anywhere’, ‘For You’ with Liam Payne, and ‘Let You Love Me’.

Speaking to OfficialCharts.com about the incredible feat, Rita said: “I’m so grateful and honoured – this is insane! I can’t put into words what this means to me! I really appreciate everyone’s support,” she said. “I’m really proud of the journey that the making of Phoenix has taken me on. To my fans, thank you for your patience and thank you always for listening. I wouldn’t be here without you, and I promise to keep giving you all my best.”

Check out the music video for ‘Let You Love Me’ below.

‘Let You Love Me’ is taken from Rita’s forthcoming sophomore album Phoenix, which is due for release on November 23. The album can be pre-ordered here.
