Boyband and YouTube sensation RoadTrip are back with an acoustic spin on their ‘Dynamite’ EP.
Hitting streaming services today, RoadTrip debut four original versions of the tracks that made up the viral ‘Dynamite’ EP.
With a teaser stripped-back release of single ‘Dynamite’ two weeks ago, the five-piece saw pre-orders for the acoustic EP sky-rocket them to the Number 1 spot, even knocking off American superstar Taylor Swift on the way.
Today, Andy, Rye, Jack, Brooklyn and Sonny are back at it again. Within hours of release, the acoustic ‘Dynamite’ EP had ousted Reading and Leeds Festival headliner Post Malone and British sensation Aitch from the top spots to reclaim Number 1 status. Speaking to CelebMix, RoadTrip’s Andy said:
“We are over the moon! We’ve been close to a Number 1 before after having three straight eps in the Top 5, all four of them having gone Number 1 in presale.”
“It goes to show how amazing the Roadies [RoadTrip’s fanbase] are, and how hard everyone has worked together to make this happen. I still can’t believe it did better than the original ‘Dynamite’ EP!”
A fresh take on June’s ‘Dynamite’ EP, which was toured around the country earlier this year, the boyband’s acoustic release comes just hours after they celebrate hitting 600,000 followers on Instagram. Far from the limit of their social media pull, 2019 has also seen RoadTrip celebrate reaching 1 million subscribers on YouTube thanks to their regular covers of pop hits. Most recently, Billie Eilish’s ‘all the good girls go to hell’ was given the RoadTrip treatment.
Featuring title-track ‘Dynamite’, ‘The One That Got Away’ and ‘Something About You’, as well as fan favourites ‘Eternal’ and ‘Flashing Lights’, the latest taste of new music from the band comes as all the originals tracks near 1,000,000 Spotify streams.
RoadTrip by name and road trip by nature, at the end of August the band took to social media to announce latest touring plans with The Hero Tour. An 11 date extravaganza which sees stops in, Bristol, Sheffield, Manchester, Newcastle, Glasgow, Edinburgh and Dublin, alongside double night shows in London and Birmingham, it looks set to be a busy Autumn for the band.
