It might be Christmas tomorrow but Anne-Marie is still keeping up her Karate With Anne-Marie series. This time teaming up with Rudimental who she’s previously recorded and toured with, will this make her be a nicer teacher for them? We doubt it!
This week’s episode sees a focus on games being used to teach the band some karate skills. From how to take someone down with a punch when they’re threatening you with arms, weapons, legs or you name it. To sparring when Rudimental are involved in ‘fights’ throwing punches and blocking them like they’re in a real karate match. The four directional exercises sees the band being attacked from all angles, showing off how to counter attack and take them down when you’re being mugged off! What’s great here is we’re not just seeing the talent of everyone involved but also the friendship which Rudimental and Anne-Marie share. The guys are great sports, synchronising their kicks with Anne-Marie, like they’ve practiced this a lot before filming.
Scoring 7.5 out of 10 for their great technique but not so great fighting, Rudimental might not be becoming experts in the sport any time soon but they can’t be good at everything as they’ve definitely got the musical talent locked down.
2018 has been a jam-packed, exciting year for Anne-Marie from playing Jingle Bell Ball, releasing her debut album Speak Your Mind, heading out on her Speak Your Mind UK tour and even announcing her UK and European tour next year. We hope Anne-Marie keeps up her Karate With… series in 2019 as we want to practice our moves until we’re ready to rival her (we can dream!).
