Rutherford Royal is Nashville based, South Carolina born and bred singer/songwriter and producer Andrew Christopher Rutherford Royal. His debut single is entitled “Back Burner” and is off his upcoming EP filled with Americana and blues drenched indie rock tunes.
“Back Burner” tells the familiar story of hoping and waiting for a lost love. Desperation, lack of self love and low self esteem can lead someone to wait endlessly for a relationship out of reach and Rutherford Royal narrates the story of a boy who does just that to his demise. The track features striking and penetrating guitar riffs, elevated harmonies and crunchy bass full of emotion. The over five minute single ebbs and flows beginning with a steady and mid tempo beat soon culminating into a wildly explosive and sonically unique anthemic bridge. Elements of soul, blues, rock and Americana all fuse together for an ear pleasing listen.
Rutherford Royal makes his music in the most scenic area possible, a back cabin studio near a hidden waterfall in Tennessee. The artist finds a deep connection and inspiration with his surrounding nature and his own music showcases unique tales of the non-traditionalist’s interpretation of the South.
