On July 25, Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman turned up the heat—literally—by appearing on First We Feast: Hot Ones, just a day before their much-hyped movie Deadpool & Wolverine hits theatres. These two aren’t just co-stars; they’re the internet’s favourite frenemies, and this spicy showdown was the perfect way to stoke the flames of their ongoing bromance.

The episode kicks off harmlessly, with host Sean Evans easing the two Hollywood heavyweights into the infamous lineup of fiery wings that get progressively spicier. But let’s be honest—the real sizzle wasn’t in the wings but in the razor-sharp banter between Reynolds and Jackman. The pair dove headfirst into snappy exchanges, covering everything from superhero suits to Marvel leaks and how deep their “bromance” runs.

As the heat level rose and the wings got hotter, so did the laughs, especially when they hit the notorious Da Bomb sauce. Watching Jackman’s eyes water while Reynolds tried (and failed) to stay cool was comedy gold. Wolverine might be tough, but hot sauce is his kryptonite!

The fun didn’t stop there. Fresh off roasting each other on Jimmy Kimmel Live!, the duo kept the laughs rolling on Hot Ones as they continued promoting Deadpool & Wolverine. Before things got too intense, Reynolds and Jackman took a trip down memory lane, swapping stories about their pre-fame gigs and wild promo stunts.

Reynolds casually dropped a bombshell by revealing that the original plan was to prank audiences with a fake movie called Alpha Cop—a hilariously terrible concept to serve as the perfect cover for their new Marvel flick. The idea was to draw in curious viewers to see this movie on opening weekend, only for the Marvel logo to suddenly pop up five minutes in, revealing it was Deadpool & Wolverine all along. Talk about a plot twist! Safe to say, Marvel wisely scrapped that idea.

As the wings got spicier, so did the chaos. Jackman, who hilariously revealed his first job was as a clown (a role he wasn’t exactly stellar at), found himself reaching for the nearest bowl of ice cream to cool down his burning mouth. “This ice cream has got f**king chilli in it!” Jackman exclaimed, “That’s the kick, the ice cream’s the kicker,” only to be reassured by Evans that there was no spice in the ice cream. Reynolds couldn’t resist poking fun at his friend, calling the experience an “important rite of passage” for Jackman.

Despite the fiery ordeal, both actors powered through to the end, where they were asked to spill one thing they admire and one thing that annoys them about each other. True to form, Ryan Reynolds couldn’t help but poke fun at Hugh Jackman, joking that he was coerced into doing the show with threats of Canadian superiority over Australia.

And speaking of the superhero flick—Deadpool & Wolverine—the promotional tour for this film has been nothing short of epic. From serenading each other on late-night TV shows to sweating bullets on Hot Ones, Reynolds and Jackman have been glued at the hip. They’ve whipped up meals with Gordon Ramsay, faced lie detectors, and even dipped their toes into K-pop. Their bromance isn’t just for show—it’s the real deal, shining through every gag, every laugh, and every tear, that a blockbuster buddy comedy would write itself.

So, what’s next for these two? After taming fiery wings and dominating the press tour, it seems like there’s nothing Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman can’t handle—except maybe Da Bomb sauce. As Deadpool & Wolverine prepares to smash box office records, one thing is clear: the real winner here is the friendship of Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman.
