Ryan Reynolds has been busy with promoting his latest movie, Deadpool. However, in a recent interview, Reynolds was asked about one of his previous movies, The Green Lantern.
The 2011 movie is actually where Ryan and his current wife, Blake Lively, met. She played Carol Ferris, who was Ryan’s character’s love interest in the movie – but that’s not where their relationship started to heat up. Speaking to Entertainment Weekly Radio, Reynolds revealed the moment he first fell in love with Blake.
“We were both single and we went on a double date.” But wait for it, Ryan explained the twist to the story. The two weren’t on a date with each other, but with different people! He explained it as “one of the most awkward dates” because of the “fireworks coming across”.
The lovely couple started dating not too long after and became inseparable, having been spotted out together numerous times. The couple got married in September of 2012 in Mt. Pleasant, a town just outside of Charleston, South Carolina. The wedding ceremony was very private, with only family and close friends in attendance.
Lively and Reynolds welcomed their first daughter, James, back in December of 2014. Reynolds explained the background behind James’ name, saying she is named after his late father. There have been hardly any pictures of James, but the ones we have seen are adorable!
