Sabrina Carpenter Releases Stormy ‘Skin’ Music Video

Sabrina Carpenter has shared the stormy music video for her latest single ‘Skin‘. The track is Sabrina’s first to reach the Billboard Hot 100, debuting at number 48.

The Jason Lester directed video, features Gavin Leatherwood most notably known for his role in the Chilling Adventures Of Sabrina. It follows the pair who are lovers going through a series of experiences from dinner dates to romantic nights in which are interrupted by the likes of rain, snow, earthquakes and even fire. However, as Sabrina sings in the track “Can’t get under my skin if I don’t let you in” this is exactly what the pair do as they ride out the bad weather thrown at them continuing to enjoy the times they share together.

Sabrina recently posted on her Instagram to explain “i was at a tipping point in my life for countless reasons. so i was inspired to do what i usually do to cope, write something that i wish i could have told myself in the past. people can only get to you if you give them the power to. and a lot of people were trying to get to me.” With the video for the track highlighting this perfectly and bringing the words of the track to life, it shows her overcoming the issues thrown at her attempting to disturb her life (and relationship) but ultimately failing as it’s as if none of the issues even exist in her world.

Vocally the singer-songwriter shines during this vulnerable, story-telling track which is also her first on new label Island Records. Keep your eyes peeled in 2021 for more magical music to come from Sabrina!

Unashamedly in love with pop music and boybands. I'm always looking for new artists to check out, so send them my way and you might be able to be smug knowing you helped me find a new favourite band. You'll probably say I have long hair, most people do.
