“I’m best known from my role on Bravo TV’s Shahs of Sunset, but have since transitioned into music,” Sara Jeihooni tells CelebMix at the top of our chat about her newest single*. “I’ve always had a deep love for music– it’s my favorite form of art and self-expression. Music has always been an escape for me, and yet, a way to connect. It’s been so exciting now to be on the other side, as an artist, making my own music.”
“IN MY BAG” is the second single from Sara, and it is one she is really proud of. “I don’t think it sounds like every other song out there,” Sara says. “I think it’s a HIT and has all the potential and elements to be viral. Furthermore, I’m Persian-American and I love how the song is the perfect blend of both cultures. It’s Western but having that Middle Eastern influence on the beat – makes it authentic and special.”
When it comes to creating music, Sara is a perfectionist and she really cares about her work and will put the time, effort and investment into making it the best that she can.
“In My Bag” is about being unapologetically yourself through any given experience. Really owning it!

“Every line is a peak into my personal life. It’s a reflection of my love for music, my cultural identity and my drive to succeed,” Sara continues.
“IN MY BAG” and “Body”* are not the only projects Sara has been working on, she is actually heading towards an EP – likely out in 2024. “I was really proud of my commitment to try new things and venture out of my comfort zone to create something amazing,” Sara says about her music project. “It’s been exciting to see my personal growth as I spend more time getting familiar with the industry.”
With this song, Sara just wants people to feel good. Sara continues, “I always like to imagine my listeners blasting my single in their cars and shouting the lyrics with their friends! I just want them to be feel-good songs!”
Each record on Sara’s EP is different and shows a different side of who she is as an artist, both professionally and personally. “No two songs sound the same, I even have a house record on there,” Sara explains. “I think it will give listeners a more well-rounded perception of me as an Artist.”
You’d be remiss to overlook the fact Sara does have some sort of influence from her television aspect on her presentation, “Watching yourself on playback teaches you a lot about yourself,” Sara says. “It’s helped me find my voice and has prepared me for what it’s like to be so vulnerable to the public and put yourself out there to be judged.”
