We will have to wait until next year for the second season of ‘Stranger Things,’ but that doesn’t mean we’ll have to wait to find out who’s been cast. Sean Astin, along with Linnea Berthelsen and Paul Reiser, will join the cast in the upcoming season.
Sean Astin starred in the 80s cult classic, The Goonies, as well as the Lord of the Rings trilogy. He will play Bob Newby “who went to high school with Joyce (Winona Ryder) and Hooper (David Harbour) and now manages the local Hawkins RadioShack.”
Paul Reiser has starred in Aliens and Whiplash and will play Dr. Owens, who is “a high ranking member within the Department of Energy on a ‘clean-up’ assignment, tasked with containing the events of last year.”
The final character we know of so far is Roman, played by Linnea Berthelsen. Netflix has commented saying Roman is “an emotionally damaged, magnetic young woman who suffered a great loss as a child.” Her character doesn’t live in Hawkins, but is somehow “connected to the supernatural events at the lab…”
Waiting can be tough, but that’s the beauty of Netflix, you’ll have plenty of time to binge watch the first season at your leisure!
Look for the next season of ‘Stranger Things’ coming in 2017!
