Selena Gomez is returning to TV acting! The singer and actress will be starring alongside Steve Martin and Martin Short in a new Hulu comedy called Only Murders in the Building.

The series will follow three strangers who are true crime obsessives. However, their obsession soon turns into a reality when they find themselves wrapped up in a real-life mystery that needs solving.

Additionally, Selena will executive the show alongside the co-creators and writers Steve Martin and John Hoffman. Dan Fogelman and Jess Rosenthal are also executive producers.

Sooo exciting to work with the legends themselves

Speaking about what can be expected from the series, Hulu’s head of originals Craig Erwich told Deadline, “I heard the pitch on Wednesday, and it was the best hour I had all week. It’s really special, surprisingly emotional. It’s really modern and self-referential about podcasts and murders, it’s got some great surprises. When they pull this off, it’s going to be really special.”

Selena is a true crime fan herself, and back in February she attended CrimeCon Chicago with her mum where they helped to solve the real cold murder case of Kurt Sova, who disappeared and was later found in a nearby ravine in 1981.

In addition to returning to TV acting, we’re soon going to be seeing a lot more of Selena on our screens as her new cooking show is set to premiere on HBO Max. Selena + Chef sees the entertainer try and develop her cooking skills as she receives virtual lessons from her famous chef pals. The series will be available to stream from August 13.
