Meet Sergio Sylvestre, the California born, Billboard topping Italian recording artist who emerged in 2015 as a contestant on the top Italian talent show Amici di Maria De Filippi, which is the equivalent to America’s X Factor. After three albums and tremendous success working with top talent throughout Europe, the pop singer is back with “Safe,” his latest electro pop dance hit which features up-and-coming Italian singer Ivana Lola.
The robust and rhythmic dance song is big and boisterous, yet lyrically vulnerable. Downhearted as it is sexy, “Safe” is Sergio’s offering which confronts the pressure and pain that arises in our lives when it comes to the push & pull dynamics of unbalanced, toxic relationships. “I can feel it haunting, wanting, holding up my life again,” Sergio and Ivana both sing, as they paint the image of a tumultuous love affair. “Safe to call it a battle” is the chorus line, and it’s rich with powerful, heavy-hitting emotion. If you’re looking to listen to something that will indulge you in your feelings, then this track offers just that. There is a heartwarming, yet enchanting sadness that is brought about from this song, coupled with wheeling melodies and an exuberant beat that will leave you on somewhat of an emotional roller coaster.
Sergio is known for his soul-bearing vocals and dance-floor ready beats, and his collaboration with Ivana creates a perfectly blended sound which showcases the duo’s incredible vocal range as much as it does their modern-day electro pop production. Safe is accompanied by visuals which further emphasize the different layers of the song – rich and sexy, yet overwhelmed by the emotions and pressures of an unbalanced love relationship.
