Jamie Laing has revealed that multi-award winning music LEGEND Shania Twain will be his special guest on this weeks episode of the Great Company podcast.
As well as discussing her upcoming appearance at this years Glastonbury Festival, the ‘From This Moment On’ singer also opens up about the importance of remaining optimistic, leaving a domestically violent home and seeking refuge as a child, along with her struggle with lymes disease, her experience having open throat surgery and taking her voice for granted.
The five-time GRAMMY winner also speaks on forgiveness and her ex-husband’s affair with her best friend, her parents’ car crash and dealing with grief.

In more playful moments during her conversation with Laing, Shania discusses her songwriting process, saying in part: “I do love to play with words. I love playing with lyrics. A lot of times though it’s more the process of putting the song together. That’s the play with lyrics, something like I don’t know I’ll give you an example of something that everyone probably knows the lyric, ‘Man I Feel Like A Woman’, you might have been expecting something more deeper, more emotional, but ‘Man I Feel Like A Woman’ is a statement that tells so much in those few words, and I could write a book on what is behind that song.”
“So, the skill of the song writing, not that it disguises those little, you know, those few words, that short phrase, but there is so much more behind it. I mean, there’s a lot of great classic even hits out there that really don’t say much of anything. Some of them are just… la la la songs, right? And that’s fine.”
Featuring an array of compelling discussions, with a diverse roster of guests from the worlds of entertainment, culture, and sport, Great Company invites anyone and everyone to pull up a seat and join in the conversation – and with Jamie at the helm, listeners can be sure to expect convos that are anything but ordinary!
