Shawn Mendes and Camila Cabello have teamed up once again to release their steamy new single, “Señorita.”
Oh la la. “Señorita” is hot, steamy, and the perfect song to release for the first day of summer. According to the video, which is directed by Dave Meyers, they are in a relationship that is hard to leave, but they keep coming back to each other. Cabello is depicted as a waitress and Mendes is the leather jacket James Dean type. After meeting, they go through a fast-paced romance filled with dancing in the moonlight and motorcycle rides.
This is a complete 180 from Mendes’ and Cabello’s 2015 hit, “I Know What You Did Last Summer,” which premiered on Mendes’ debut album, Handwritten.
It is more mature for them now and really showcases how much they have evolved in their career. Their voices together sound like heaven.
Mendes is of Portuguese heritage and Cabello is of Cuban heritage, so “Señorita” is the perfect song to show off their roots.
The best friends teased the collaboration earlier in the week on their social media and fans were getting excited.
Mendes is on his self-titled world tour and we can only hope he adds this song to the setlist. It would be a great way to kick off summer. Last month, he released his single, “If I Can’t You,’ which is a contender for Song of the Summer.
Cabello has been working on her second solo album and hopefully, this will be on it.
They have chemistry and it was evident in this video. We hope there are a lot more collaborations from these two in the future.
“Señorita” is now available on all streaming platforms and you can watch the video on Youtube.
