UK country music band The Shires have set another British chart record with their brand new album ‘My Universe‘.
The duo first broke records last year with their debut release ‘Brave‘ which became the first LP from a UK country act to chart in the top 10 of the official album charts.
And now the pair have done it again with their second release.
The Shires’ brand new album ‘My Universe’ charted at number 3 this week just behind Craig David who was at number 1, and Bon Ivor who was at number 2.
But the biggest and most exciting news about their chart position was the fact that the new LP has set the record for the fastest selling country album from a UK act.
The Shires are now the biggest-selling country music act in the UK (including US artists).
Speaking about their second record-breaking album, Ben Earle and Crissie Rhodes of The Shires said; “We can’t believe it! We’ve lived and breathed this new album, so to then see people get as much from it as we do is pretty overwhelming. Being told you have the fastest-selling British Country album ever and also landing a Top 3 record is incredible. We are so grateful to our fans, and of course supporters within the industry, who have made this all possible and supported us every step of the way.”
The Shires’ newest LP ‘My Universe‘ is out now.
