With just a few weeks to go until the release of Sigala’s debut album Brighter Days, the DJ and producer has released a brand new single which sees him bring together an unlikely yet incredible combination of artists.
Reuniting with Ella Eyre and joining forces with Meghan Trainor and French Montana for the first time, ‘Just Got Paid’ is a collaboration we didn’t know we needed until it exploded onto our music playlist earlier today.
A balls-to-the-wall dance banger, ‘Just Got Paid’ is a carefree anthem which any person with bills to pay will resonate with. “I should grow up some day cause I got bills to pay”, Ella claims with her powerhouse vocals, however, she soon throws caution to the wind as she goes clubbing instead. “I just got paid. I’m broke but I’m ballin’,” she sings over Sigala’s signature funky yet breezy production.
Meghan takes over the verse, singing “And it feels like every day’s a holiday. So I can take my check to the bank. And I know, know, know I should be worried. But I work, work, work to the bone, baby.” She also offers up an infectious “gimme that” chant which will leave you hooked in an instant. French Montana adds his own flavour to the track, declaring “Montana with the funky sound, Sigala got the London sound”.
‘Just Got Paid’ is the perfect high energy offering to mark the end of the summer, and it’s definitely our new pay day anthem. Check it out below.
It seems that we’ll be treated to a music video for ‘Just Got Paid’ soon as Ella tweeted that she recently spent the day shooting with Meghan.
