Steps have unveiled the music video for their latest single, ‘Story of a Heart’.
The visual is simple yet effective, as we see the five-piece band reminiscing about their 20-year career. The group, made up of Claire Richards, Lee Latchford-Evans, Faye Tozer, Ian ‘H’ Watkins, and Lisa Scott Lee, take a look through old photographs, try on past costumes and even have a play with their very own dolls. Whilst looking back with nostalgia, Steps make some new memories along the way, adding polaroid pictures to their photo album.
‘Story of a Heart’ is a cover of a song written by ABBA’s Benny Andersson and Björn Ulvaeus, which was first recorded by the Benny Andersson Band. Steps’ version has been produced by The Alias, giving it a new lease of life for 2017.
Speaking about working with ABBA, Lisa said: “We’ve always had that comparison with ABBA so it’s amazing to work with Benny and Bjorn. When we heard the special album track they gave to us we said, ‘that’s perfect.’ It’s a bridge to where we were and it moves on nicely to where we’re taking the new music.”

‘Story of a Heart’ follows on from Steps’ previous single, ‘Scared Of The Dark’. Both are taken from their latest album Tears On The Dancefloor, which peaked at number two in the UK album charts earlier this year.
Steps will continue their 20th year celebrations in November when they kick off their UK Party on the Dancefloor tour. The 22-date tour will showcase some of the new material from their recent album as well as some of the classic tracks from their lengthy discography. It’ll be a party not to be missed for any Steps fan!
