Strictly Come Dancing professional dancers Aljaž Škorjanec, Giovanni Pernice and Gorka Marquez are joining forces for a spectacular new show called Here Come The Boys.
From the producers Rip It Up and Remembering Fred, the 38-date Here Come The Boys tour will kick off in Carlisle on June 15, stopping off at various UK locations before coming to an end on July 28 in Southend.
Unlike any other Strictly show, Here Come The Boys will see Aljaž, Giovanni and Gorka compete in the ultimate dance battle as they show off their Latin, Ballroom, Commercial and Contemporary skills in a club setting.
The show will feature a live resident DJ who will play some of the best dance-floor anthems, club classics and guilty pleasures, accompanied by live vocals from Elizabeth Troy (formerly with Clean Bandit). It will be down to the audience to judge the contest between Aljaž, Giovanni and Gorka each night.
Here Come The Boys is directed and choreographed by Gareth Walker and co-choreographed by Strictly Come Dancing professional dancer Janette Manrara.
Speaking about the forthcoming tour, Aljaž said, “Having worked on Strictly Come Dancing with Gorka and Giovanni for the past four years, I know we are going to deliver a truly incredible show for audiences all over the UK. And while we might all be the best of friends, the show’s competitive element means that there will be no love lost when we battle it out on the dance floor to win the audience vote. Serious bragging rights are at stake!”
Gorka said, “The team behind Here Come The Boys are renowned for producing amazing shows, so I didn’t have to think twice about joining the tour. To be touring with Aljaž and Giovanni – not only two fantastic dancers but two of my best mates – is the icing on the cake. Gareth Walker and our fellow Strictly pro dancer Janette Manrara are both amazing choreographers, so we know they’ll be pushing us hard to bring out the very best from myself and the boys. We look forward to seeing everybody on the dance-floor.”
Giovanni added, “I am so excited to be starring in Here Come The Boys with Aljaž and Gorka, two of the world’s greatest dancers. It really is a dream team scenario for all of us. I also know Aljaž and Gorka will really want to beat me, as they both secretly know I’m the best dancer. I can’t wait to be crowned champion every single night!”
