Canadian singer-songwriter Tate McRae is back with her latest single ‘greedy’, a confident and empowering bop which showcases her evolution as an artist.
Written and produced with hitmakers Ryan Tedder (Taylor Swift, Beyoncé), Amy Allen (Harry Styles, Justin Bieber), and Jasper Harris (Doja Cat, Post Malone), ‘greedy’ is Tate’s first taste of new music following her hit collaboration with Tiësto on ’10:35′.
The hypnotic release is accompanied by a striking music video which puts Tate’s incredible moves in the spotlight. Directed by Aerin Moreno (Dove Cameron, Madison Beer), the visual takes place in an empty hockey arena with Tate and a group of dancers making themselves at home. Choreographed by Sean Bankhead, the video channels Tate’s dance background (she was the first Canadian finalist on So You Think You Can Dance as a teen) and you can’t help but be mesmerised by her pop star prowess.
Speaking about the single, Tate adds, “I’m beyond excited to drop ‘greedy’ and share this new chapter of my music with the world. I wrote ‘greedy’ about having the confidence to know what you want. I feel like this is the first time where people are seeing a feistier and more playful side of me. This song is so unexpected, and I cannot wait for everyone to hear it.”
Earlier this month, Tate kicked off her North American ‘Are We Flying Tour’ in Chicago. The ‘You Broke Me First’ singer will be performing in major cities including New York, Nashville, Dallas, and Los Angeles before wrapping up in Seattle on October 13.
