Taylor Swift and Calvin Harris have reportedly called it quits after one year and three months of dating. Not too long ago in March, the two celebrated their anniversary via Snapchat and Instagram posts depicting a tropical vacation, anniversary cake, and jewelry. What gives?
PEOPLE reports what they were told by “a source close to the pair [Swift and Harris].” As per this source: “There was no drama. Things just don’t work out sometimes.”
The timing of the split surprises many not only because of the recent anniversary photos on social media, but also due to both parties’ reluctance to divulge too much information about their relationship. Many interpreted this as a budding relationship which intended to become serious. “I’m just taking things as they come,” Swift told Vogue in an interview for her cover story earlier this year. “I’m in a magical relationship right now. And of course I want it to be ours, and low-key…this is the one thing that’s been mine about my personal life.”
Furthermore, Harris was briefly hospitalized after a car accident prior to the news of their split. One would expect the parties in a relationship to hold off on broaching the subject of breaking up after that!
