Swifties and Mendes Army, it’s the moment we’ve been waiting for since Shawn Mendes opened for Taylor Swift on her 1989 World Tour. The friends have finally collaborated!
Swift released a remix of her latest single, “Lover,” off the album of the same name, with the Canadian singer. Swift posted on her social media that a remix was coming with a good friend and minutes later the song was released. It was a great thing to wake up to.
Instead of just changing up the beat as most remixes do, Mendes changed a few stanzas of the song to make it his own love letter to his lover, the one and only Camila Cabello.
Just when you thought Swift’s most romantic song couldn’t get any better, the remix is released and shatters our hearts into a million pieces with how much love there is. Check it out below.
One of his lines takes out the iconic line of “I’ve loved you three summers now honey, but I want them all” but this rendition is so perfect, it doesn’t even matter. Their voices blend perfectly together, they both found the one they want to spend the rest of their lives with, and you can hear in their voices. If this doesn’t make you cry and go find the love of your life, you’re lying.
The remix may just be the new wedding song for couples because it tells the guys and girls version.
We hope there are many more collaboraSHAWNs in the future between these two because we can’t stop smiling listening to this one. Hopefully, they will debut the remix at the AMAs on November 24th.
