Taylor Swift tops Forbes’ list of highest-paid celebrities of the year

Taylor Swift has topped Forbes’ annual list of the 100 highest-paid celebrities with a staggering $170 million. The ‘Shake it Off’ hitmaker beat the likes of Adele, who came in at number 9 with $80.5, Rihanna at number 13 with $75 million and Katy Perry at 63 with $41 million.

Although, it is no surprise that Swift came out on top after her star-spangled 1989 World Tour grossed $250 million last year and she released commercials for Apple Music. Plus, she is pretty much a pro at topping the charts by now, so this is just another achievement to add to her résumé.

The top 10 also included the world’s favourite boy band, One Direction, who landed the number 2 spot with $110 million. Actor-comedian Kevin Hart came in at number 6 with $87.5 million and Howard Stern sits at number 7 with $85 million.

However, Beyoncé and Jay Z are this year’s highest-paid celebrity couple, having raked in $107.5 million over the past year. We think the term ‘power couple’ is pretty appropriate here.

Kim Kardashian is featured on the magazine’s cover and she claimed the number 42 spot with $51 million. Forbes says 40% of her paycheck this year came from her game ‘Kim Kardashian: Hollywood,’ which we are still addicted to.

Finally, Taylor Swift’s ex boyfriend Calvin Harris landed at number 21 on the list with $63 million in his pocket.

We could never imagine our bank accounts being so full, not even in our wildest dreams, (pardon the Taylor Swift pun) but let us know where your favourite celebrities ranked either by tweeting us @CelebMix.
