Taylor Swift finally returned to the stage on Saturday night.
The 27-year-old’s show on the eve of this year’s Super Bowl was an invite-only gathering sponsored by DirecTV Now. Swift played to a sold-out venue at Club Nomadic in Houston. A few famous faces in the crowd included John Legend, Chrissy Teigen, Thomas Rhett, Lea Michele, Tim Tebow, Simone Biles, Aly Raisman and Chris Evans.
“As far as I know, I’m only doing one show in 2017…this is that one show,” the “Shake It Off” songstress revealed. None-the-less, she made her sole show of the year worthwhile.
“You are the people who come from all over the world, possibly to see some football. But, would it be alright if we play some music first?” Swift asked the 9,000 concertgoers.
After a few songs in, she introduced a smash of hers from 2008. “I figured you guys are going to be watching football, and I wrote a song when I was 16 that features, like, cheer captains and bleachers, and I don’t know, I felt like it might be appropriate to play tonight,” she said leading up to a nostalgic performance of “You Belong With Me.” “I mean, it’s really old, but…”
The pop star played some more classics, some memorable hits off her most recent album 1989 and even some tracks she wrote for other artists. Swift delivered an acoustic version of Calvin Harris’ “This is What You Came For” which she co-wrote with her then-boyfriend as well as “Better Man,” a track the songwriter crafted and gave to Little Big Town that reached No. 1 on Billboard‘s Hot Country Songs chart.

Swift also debuted a solo performance of her latest hit, “I Don’t Wanna Live Forever” with Zayn.
“There’s no Zayn, so sorry, you are stuck with me,” Swift forewarned those hopeful for a surprise appearance. Although there was no former One Direction singer in attendance, the audience didn’t seem to mind, still enjoying themselves and singing along to a stripped down version of the sultry song.

Swift ended the show on a high note, expressing her gratification to the crowd. “I’m just really happy right now. That was a lot of fun,” she said. She may not have any more concerts planned for the remainder of the year; however, we’re optimistic that brand new T-Swift tunes are headed our way.
Can we all talk about how this is the happiest and most passionate we have ever seen Taylor? #SuperSaturdayNight ? https://t.co/pBIPVIjmL2
