The BBC Radio 1 Teen Awards took place at Wembley Arena on Sunday 23rd October.

Ten thousand excited teenagers waited patiently for the awards to start and to see their teen heroes live on stage.

The afternoon started off with a special surprise guest Niall Horan! It was Niall’s first performance as a soloist and it sent the crowd wild. Everyone seemed to be happy to see him again and finally hear This Town live. It was a special moment shared between him and the crowd and it was a great surprise for all of the One Direction fans in the audience.

Excited screams continued with huge British band, The Vamps took to the stage. Opening with their huge hit Can We Dance, it set the crowd off dancing straight away. They also included some of their other singles from Meet The Vamps which included Somebody To You, Wildheart and Last Night. They also managed to get the crowd going with their new hit song, All Night. The Vamps always have a positive reaction from the crowd and this was no different.

Next on the music performance list was Jess Glynne. The whole audience was singing along and she sang all of her hits perfectly. Everyone was having fun as they excitedly sang through songs such as Hold My Hand, it completely hyped up the crowd.

Their set came to an end with their smash hit, Cake By The Ocean. Everyone sang, danced and jumped along to the song creating an amazing atmosphere.

The girls then got the crowd motivated once again by getting them to scream before going into their new single, Shout Out To My Ex. Their set finished on hugely popular single, Black Magic. Everyone belted out the lyrics at the top of their lungs, having a great time.

The audience sang along with his passionate vocals as he went into Treat You Better. He then sang the second single from his new album, Ruin, which had the crowd singing along. Everyone then got a tear in their eye as he sang Mercy and then it ended on a high with his popular song, Stitches.
