Interest in Country Music is at an all time high at the moment, the genre is growing every day with more and more acts breaking into the mainstream every day.
Here are 10 of our favourite British/Irish and US Country acts we think you should be listening to right now.
1: Ward Thomas
Ward Thomas are leading the way for the UK country scene and made chart history back in 2016 when their sophomore album ‘Cartwheels’ topped the Official UK Album Chart making them the first ever British country act to score a number 1 on the all genre chart.
2: Sarah Darling
Sarah Darling has one of the most beautiful and compelling voices you will ever hear. Since the release of her ‘Dream Country’ LP last year the US singer has become an honoury Brit and Spends much of her time touring over here.
3: The Shires
Along with Ward Thomas, The Shires are blazing a trail in UK Country. They are the fastest selling country act in British history and both their albums have sold over 100,000 copies. They are the first British act to score a top-ten album on the UK charts.
4: Andy Brown
Andy Brown is best known for being a part of the rock/pop group Lawson, but earlier this year he broke out as a solo country star and hasn’t looked back since. He has since performed at a number of festivals and will support The Shires later this year.
5: Danielle Bradbery
Danielle Bradbery rose to fame in 2013 when she was a finalist on the Voice USA. Since then she has become a chart sensation and is one of the most exiting country artists around. Her voice and image are the perfect combination to become a worldwide sensation.
6: Una Healy
Una Healy is another pop band member turned country solo artist, and she is a pioneer for what you can do when you a leave a group. The former Saturdays singer is a true rising country sensation and 2018 is set to be massive for her.
7: Carly Pearce
It took a while for Carly Pearce’s career to take off but when it did she became a force to be reckoned with. Since her debut last year she has become one of the biggest names in the genre and is building up a strong fanbase all over the world.
8: Kevin McGuire
Rising Scottish singer Kevin McGuire is leading the way for his homeland with his stunning country twang he is a major player on the UK scene. He is currently unsigned but there’s little doubt that a major label will soon snap him up.
9: Jimmie Allen
Jimmie Allen is one of the most exciting acts around at the moment. His rise to fame is a true rags to riches story and his music is catchy pop-country. He will soon be the name on everyone’s lips when it come’s to male country acts.
10: Carolynne
Former UK X Factor finalist Carolynne has finally found her voice. Her debut release last year was a big hit and she is great asset to the UK market. She has a dose of Shania Twain sass and creates epic country-pop tunes.
