The BRIT Awards are one of the biggest events in the music calendar and this years edition will be taking place on 20th February and the nominations show has just been announced.
The BRITS Are Coming will announce the talent up for one of the prestigious awards on Saturday 12th January during the TV special. Hosted by Clara Amfo the show will look back on another successful year of British and international music. Throughout the hour long show there will also be performances from the likes of Little Mix, George Ezra, Jess Glynne, Not3s & Mabel along with critics choice winner Sam Fender who will receive his award on the night.
Shortlists for categories including British Male/Female, British Breakthrough, British Group, British Single, British Artist Video Of The Year, International Male/Female, International Group and one of the most sought after awards in the music industry; Mastercard British Album Of The Year. This years awards were designed by architect Sir David Adjaye OBE and can be seen below.
Earlier this month Sam Fender was announced as the winner of the Critics’ Choice award, the award is for artists who are anticipated to receive future success but are yet to have scored a UK Top 40 album. Releasing nine singles across 2017 and 2018 it’s been a great two years for the singer who has played a relentless touring schedule gaining fans every step of the way. Competing against Lewis Capaldi and Mahalia for the award he will join the likes of Florence + The Machine, Rag’n’Bone Man and Jorja Smith as winners of the award.
