English actor Josh O’Connor, who is known for his roles in The Riot Club, Cinderella, Emma, and his delivery of Johnny Saxby in the 2017 film God’s Own Country (directed by Francis Lee), is now taking the role of the young Prince Charles in the critically acclaimed Netflix drama The Crown.
O’Connor’s flawless portrayal of the youthful Prince of Wales is truly uncanny, garnering high praise from critics and press across the globe. The third series of The Crown, which has just been released, covers the period of 1964 and 1977 and follows his turbulent relationship with Princess Diana and the introduction to the vicious love triangle that adds Camilla Shand (Emerald Fennell) into the picture.
Along with his stunning performances, O’Connor has taken to narrating a podcast. Book of Man, which is written by British singer/songwriter Rob Marr, tells a tragic storyline, serving an engrossing experience and a phenomenal performance by O’Connor. The podcast follows the story of a heart-breaking tragedy of four generations of fathers and sons, intertwined with music from musician Marr.
“Death and Comfort” is the first single to be released from the album and podcast. Totally raw and haunting the song is the perfect backing for the delicious voice of O’Connor and overall a beautiful, captivating piece of work. The talented actor’s voice is heavenly to listen to and utterly suited to the sombre tone of the podcast. The dream-boat Brit is fast becoming the heart-throb of the nation – hopping on everyone’s radar, he will probably have you melting over him too.
