Miss Moneypenny has always been an assistant to MI5 and taken down notes for both Bond and M.
However, Naomie Harris has made it clear that her character is now a highly trained advisor who only takes down notes if she has to.
Moneypenny is now an equal ‘friend’ to Bond after finding her place within a research-based role.
This seems to tie in well with the image of Bond changing. There have been a lot of rumours surrounding the future of Bond as Daniel Craig has stated he is leaving the role. Idris Elba is the favourite to play the role of the next Bond, still Craig has said he does not mind if a woman takes on the role.
Spectre is the 24th Bond film and deals with the aftermath of M’s death.
The actress has made it perfectly clear that if she is seen on the big screen typing: ‘it’s because I’m accessing top secret files.’
Naomi went to the Bond audition for a ‘laugh’ thinking she would never receive the role. She believed she was: ‘too old’ for a Bond Girl and did not have the: ‘right assets.’
